Moodle Users Association
Members of the Moodle Users Association tend to be full of ideas about what would make MUA and, of course, Moodle great. This time, Chair Richard Samson has decided to take us at our word, by developing three internal working groups. This and other announcements have been made by him at his monthly update.

MUA Working Groups

Three focal areas will organize the Committee’s efforts, as well as the association’s at large. Samson will lead the MUA Strategy Group, Thomas Korner will be in charge of the MUA Marketing Group, and Alexander Bias will be on top of the MUA Operations Group.

Members are encouraged to reach out to the leader on the group they wish to help.

Moodle 3.6 Development Evaluation

A curious situation has come up regarding MUA Project Development Cycle, funding for Moodle 3.6 projects and the work at Moodle HQ.

Given the alignment between “Course overview block in Dashboard,” the project winner of this year’s MUA Cycle, and the internal priorities for Moodle 3.6, Moodle HQ has decided to fast-track this project to release this year. But they have also asked MUA to provided funding to what was a development priority. Samson and the MUA Committee have, in principle, agree, as long as the core elements of the project as voted are developed.

As a result, Moodle HQ has agreed to showcase preliminary work on the Dashboard for MUA members. HQ representatives will walk us through them on MUA Town Halls, taking place

  • Tomorrow, November 6
  • And next Tuesday, November 13
For the first time, MUA members can debate on whether the project is approved more or less in real time. Join the Town Halls following this link.
Moodle 3.6 is scheduled to launch Monday, November 26.
