Liberal Arts Edition Of Minor Moodle Releases Out, Come To CLAMP HackFest For Major LAE 3.5!

The Collaborative Liberal Arts Moodle Project, CLAMP, is a Moodle-focused consortium of liberal arts colleges that support collaboration spaces to spread open source technologies for humanities, arts, sciences. and more. Two of their main contributions to the Moodleverse are “Moodle LAE,” a liberal arts-flavored edition of Moodle with popular plugins and a few gentle tweaks, the result of an ongoing process of listening to their users and the semiannual “Hack/Doc Fest” which joins admins, developers, and enthusiasts from member colleges.

Moodle LAE follows the release cycle of the original Moodle by a few days and weeks. Last week, it released updated versions for the recently launched minor, or “second point,” Moodle updates:

In this occasion, CLAMP’s Charles Fulton reports no new features on top of the fixes and upgrades coming from Moodle HQ. (Moodle 3.1.12 and Moodle 3.2.9 are security-only upgrades.)

For major releases, CLAMP takes the opportunity of the “Hackathon – Documentathon” to discuss it at large and allow the community to share their considerations. A beta version of Moodle LAE 3.5 will be ready for participants. The 2018 Summer Hackathon will take place Wednesday June 27th through Friday June 29th, following CLAMP’s Academic Technology Administrators Conference (ATAC). Both events will take place on Lafayette College’s campus in Easton, Pennsylvania.
