With Moodle, it’s Christmas twice a year. Gather round: here are the most important new features for all members of the Moodle family.
Linked Logins and Office Suite Integration
As an existing user, you can add an account from Microsoft or Google (or both). This will give you access to your online files (if you have OneDrive or Google Drive) and allow you to log in through one of these third parties.
New Course Overview Block
Arguably one of the most exciting new features, the new overview block makes every visit to the dashboard relevant by letting students know what their next critical task is. Teachers will also have a dashboard with “grade by” dates if they use the new feature allowing them to add reminders. If the Course has Activity Completion enabled, it will show a pie icon with a graphic representation of Course progress percentage.
A popular tool for web designers, it lets you replace the icons in the Moodle site, which are image files, with characters from this Open Source type. This allows for a faster loading site and a more homogeneous look among Moodle Sites, as well as the countless places on the web already using it. Font Awesome is compatible with most themes and recommended for accessibility purposes.
