Excellent presentation, and one I will be recommending to our new faculty.
But many times when you use the term “breadcrumb”, you really mean “link”.
A breadcrumb is a navigation trail, generally showing the series of pages or steps to get to where you are now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breadcrumb_%28navigation%29
Donna, thanks for the comment. You’re correct that “breadcrumbs” = links, but the presentation is also correct as Moodle officially refers to it’s top level links (which appear on the top left above the course content) as “breadcrumbs”. Nuances in semantics can be a little confusing. Picking one and being consistent with it’s usage is perhaps one of the most important parts of good training/PD for teachers new to Moodle.
Typo near the beginning of the Grades section: “addignments”
Joseph,
The usage that caused me to submit the comment was in the Grades section (although I’d noticed it elsewhere). It says to click on “Grades” in the Administration block — clearly a link and not the set of horizontal links above the course.
