Here’s a quick tip that I learned both from the Moodlemeet.ning.com social network and MoodleMayhem Google group recently: To convert Blackboard course cartridges to Moodle, just give Louisiana State University‘s course conversion apparatus a try.
LSU moved from Blackboard to Moodle officially and completely in 2008 and is perhaps the largest Moodle installation in the United States (serving around 28,000 students, the vast majority of which utilize LSU’s online course management systems).
If your organization is simply considering a move from one LMS to another, give this conversion tool a try to see if it could make the transition process easier.
