Keith Landa, staff at SUNY Purchase (Purchase.edu) has a collection of quick tutorial videos on Vimeo that highlight a lot of good tips for using Moodle and making it look more aesthetically pleasing.

Videos include,

• Embedding Youtube videos using the Youtube filter
• Adding images to your course page
• Highlighting and truncating your course view (thereafter using the “jump to” drop down)
• and several great grade book videos (letter grades and weighted means)

This screencast tutorial shows the steps for inserting a banner image across the top of your Moodle course page, by editing the week 0 / topic 0 summary. Moodle version 1.9.7 was used for this tutorial, but the same steps apply to other versions of Moodle.
