Moodle Monthly hopes to cover all new plugins and modules released at Moodle.org, this is the first such coverage (but there will be more in the future categorized here: http://www.moodlemonthly.com/category/development/modules/)

OpenBiblio is a Moodle block that interacts with the OpenBiblio open source library catalog management software.  Moodle can be linked to that software in order to “call” data and display it to users.  In this case, books that have been taken out and information regarding each book (potentially due dates and over due notices) in a Moodle block.  Here’s the purpose as proposed in the entry at Moodle.org:

This block reads the database of OpenBiblio Open Source library software and pulls out which books an in Moodle logged-in user has borrowed and shows them with their due by date. [http://moodle.org/mod/data/view.php?d=13&rid=3120]
